Capsule Geology

The showings consist of two principle zones of mineralization. The southwestern zone occurs at the contact of northeast-dipping Badshot marble lying structurally on black slate of the Lardeau Group. Sixty to 90 centimetre lenses of pyrite, sphalerite and galena have replaced the limestone near the contact. Smaller veins intersect the main zone at small angles.

The second zone, 60 metres stratigraphically higher, consists of pyrrhotite, sphalerite, and galena with minor tetrahedrite and arsenopyrite. It occurs in limestone which contains a thin bed of grey sericite schist. The zone has been traced for 46 metres varying from 76 to 183 centimetres in width.

In the 2007 Technical Report for Merit Mining Corp. of J & L Property, the mineralization was concluded to relate to sheared schistose zones with intense deformation and complex folding, interlayered with or in contact with limestone. Muck samples collected during this reporting showed one of the zones graded at 11.01 grams per tonne gold, 356.7 grams per tonne silver, 10.75 percent zinc and 5.48 percent lead from four samples (Makepeace, D. (2007-05-04): Technical Report for Merit Mining Corp. of J & L Property). These values refer to a narrow arsenical zone of massive sulphides which has been traced for 400 metres along strike and 160 metres vertically by a series of surface showings and hand-tooled adits.
